If you prefer to travel by road to Desert Rock, The Red Sea destination is 500 kilometres north of Jeddah and 375 kilometres northwest of Madinah. Arrive at Desert Rock Resort, you will be met by your villa host and will be accompanied to the guest arrival hub. Saudia flies to Red Sea International four times a week from King Khalid International Airport (RUH) in Riyadh and two times a week from King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED) in Jeddah. FlyDubai flies to Red Sea International twice a week from Dubai International Airport (DXB). Stay tuned for updates on more flights and new routes.

The currency of Saudi Arabia is the Saudi Riyal (SAR). The riyal is subdivided into 100 halalas and is pegged to the US dollar. One US dollar is equal to 3.75 SAR. Notes are in denominations of five riyals, 10 riyals, 50 riyals, 100 riyals, and 500 riyals. Coins are one riyal, two riyals, 50 halala, 25 halala, 10 halala, 5 halala, or 1 halala.

The Red Sea is a private sun, sea and sand destination and visitors should dress how they feel comfortable. When visiting local villages or religious sites, we advise that both men and women dress modestly, keeping arms and knees covered and wearing loose clothing. It is not essential for women to cover their hair.

Arabic is the official language of Saudi Arabia. English is the Kingdom’s informal second language, spoken by a large section of society in cities and large towns.
